Dr Matt Price
Director of Research and Grants
Matt is an accomplished clinical psychologist, with extensive cross-sector experience of working to improve support for babies and their families. As a firm believer in the power of early intervention to make the biggest difference, he is deeply passionate about supporting babies and their families.
Matt has worked across frontline services supporting babies and their families, and led a NHS parent-infant relationship service in Bradford. Matt was also Head of Start for Life Mental Health and Clinical Advisor to the UK’s Department of Health and Social Care, where he led the evidence-based policy development of a £100m investment in perinatal mental health and parent-infant relationship element of the Family Hubs and Start for Life programme.
In the voluntary sector, Matt was the first Strategic Lead for Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at Barnardo’s - one of the UK’s leading children’s charities. In this role, he led the co-production of local perinatal mental health and parent-infant relationship strategies on behalf of three local authorities, ensuring that parents are empowered to give their babies the very best start in life.
As the Director of Research and Grants at the 1001 Critical Days Foundation, Matt leads our grant-giving initiatives and ensures that every element of our work is focussed on having a real impact for babies.
