Lisa has more than 30 years’ experience in communications, journalism, broadcasting & storytelling, helping organisations & audiences understand complex issues & why they matter. She began her career working in advertising - in London, New York & Sydney - with major international brands, before moving into journalism, broadcasting & strategic communications.
Lisa went on to build a wide-ranging media career as a reporter, newsreader, radio presenter, TV / radio producer & podcast host / executive producer - working across print, radio, television, podcasts & digital platforms. Her experience has included national & regional journalism, political reporting in Scotland & England, programme-making & helping create award-winning podcasts (Audible & Amazon Music).
Throughout her career, Lisa has specialised in turning evidence, policy & lived experience into stories that connect with people. She has worked with broadcasters, clinicians, researchers, policymakers, authors & campaigners, helping shape communications that inform public debate, influence decision-makers & inspire action.
Lisa also brings a deeply personal commitment to the Foundation’s mission. She is an adoptive parent of two boys & has seen first-hand how early adversity, trauma & disrupted attachment can affect children’s development, relationships & sense of safety, & how the right support can help them thrive. She is also a trustee of the Belay Foundation, which supports families raising children affected by developmental trauma.
Lisa believes communications can do more than raise awareness. It can change public understanding, challenge assumptions & help ensure babies receive the nurturing, responsive care they need during the first 1,001 critical days of life. She is proud to use her experience in media, storytelling & strategic communications to help give every baby the best possible start in life.
